Every Rabbi is formed and nourished by the rabbis of the past whose teachings they hear most powerfully in their own ears. Id like to introduce you to some of my greatest spiritual teachers. Our first Rabbi in this summer series of learning is Rabbi is Abraham Isaac Kook, (1865-1935).
Rav Kook was the chief Rabbi of Palestine prior to the establishment of the State of Israel. He was a scholar, a mystic, and a saint, yet his uniqueness came from his ability to respond graciously and openheartedly to all who turned to him with questions regarding the philosophy of religion, not simply religion itself. He is an utter inspiration to anyone who yearns for a higher and deeper form of understanding the baffling construct of reality. Please let me know of you intend to join us.
