Tachless is a Yiddish word which means “essence” or “purpose”. In colloquial American English, the best translation would be along the lines of “give it to me straight”.
Here’s the issue, we live at a time where many of our children are outwardly and proactively abandoning the Jewish ways by which we raised them. It’s a confusing and painful experience for a parent to lose to one’s children, an identity variable that has meant so much to us in our own lives. I hear this hurt and sadness all the time. This talk can empower you to understand why and then to see how you can continue to share a part of you that has so much meaning in your life, in a way that may reach them in theirs.
